What about my old iPad?
If you have a spare tablet gathering dust, it probably works fine as a KDS. The Nibble kitchen display is lightweight and runs on older devices. iPads from 2018+, most Android tablets from the last 5 years - give it a try before buying new.
For cash payments
Cash drawers connect to your receipt printer and open automatically when you complete a cash sale. Any drawer with a standard RJ12 connection works.

Hardware questions
Do I need to buy a printer right away?
No. Many merchants start with just the web dashboard or a tablet showing the KDS. Orders appear on screen in real-time. Add a printer later when you're ready.
Why only Star printers?
Star's CloudPRNT technology lets printers work through any internet connection without special networking setup. The printer polls our server for orders - no port forwarding or static IPs needed. Epson support is coming soon.
Can I use my existing card reader?
If it's from Stripe, Square, or SumUp - yes. You'll connect it to your Nibble account and it works with our POS. Readers from other providers won't work with Nibble.
Does Nibble sell hardware?
Not yet. You buy hardware directly from manufacturers or retailers. This keeps your costs down and gives you more choice. We're happy to recommend what works best for your setup.
What if my printer breaks?
Orders still appear on the KDS and in your dashboard - you won't miss anything. Get a replacement and add it to your account. Star printers are reliable and most come with good warranties.
